WE NEVER SETTLE
We’ve probably tried hundreds of curries here at Spicesmiths HQ. From fine dining awesomeness (we’re looking at you Bukhara) to lovingly prepared street food (Chai-Naasto is epic), through to the dozens of the spice kits available to order online. And there’s one simple truth – there’s just no mass produced shortcut to a great Indian dish.
Authentic recipes, hand prepared with love, using fresh and ethically sourced ingredients are our everything. For true curry lovers, production line supermarket sauces and frozen meal kits just don’t cut it. The principles of handcrafting our sauces fresh each day with the best possible ingredients is in our DNA.
HOW IT BEGAN
Depending on your point of view, launching Spicesmiths at the onset of a global pandemic in 2020 was either madness or perfect timing. We’ve all felt the struggles of the hospitality sector in the last year and are hoping that our high street and local food businesses rebound and flourish when it’s safe to do so.
Starting out with this backdrop was challenging, but it’s also been a year of unprecedented growth in the food delivery sector and demand for our banquet boxes is always greater than our ability to cook enough curries!
SMALL BATCH, ALWAYS
There’s no substitute for hand crafting a curry, so we’ll always have a limited number available every month. Each Indian supper box we deliver has been created by an experienced chef, working to recipes that have often been handed down through generations.
This means we always sell out, often within hours of releasing the latest curry banquet box. To help meet demand and to help us plan, we’ve introduced our Spicesmiths Curry Club – a monthly subscription to guarantee curries each and every month. By running our Curry Club, we can eliminate food waste, only prepare what we need to, know exactly when to prepare, make and deliver – and as a result, increase the number of customers we can serve.
We guarantee our curry banquet boxes are restaurant quality because they’re prepared in our very own restaurant kitchen.
You won’t find mass produced product, production lines or a ton of preservatives and additives in our kitchen. Just hand crafted Indian meals, served fresh to your door.
We take great pride in knowing exactly where our produce is sourced from. As you’d expect, our meats are produced by small-scale farmers who share our values of high welfare, naturally fed and free to roam animals.
Once our Indian banquet boxes have been prepared and packed, we need to make sure they arrive as you’d expect them to, each and every time. To help us achieve flawless delivery of our curries, we partner with DPD and UPS to offer tracked, next day and carbon neutral delivery to your door.
We take our responsibility to the planet seriously – from our packaging to our sourcing of produce. And by working with DPD and UPS, we hope to limit the impact our business has upon the environment through their carbon neutral pledge and a commitment to growing the number of electric vehicles in their fleets.
